Today is a Buddhist Holy Day in Thailand – Visakha Puja – and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) shows their respect by stealing.
Being a holy day in Thailand didn’t stop the Tourism Authority of Thailand from making a couple more thefts of Intellectual Property.
The theft comes from the Tourism Authority of Thailand Sukjai Thailand Facebook page.
The photo and text come from this Wiki Page.
So, here we have it again – more thefts of Intellectual Property perpetuated by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Someone really needs to school these folks on Copyright Laws, Creative Commons Licenses, and why it is illegal to steal other people’s work. I guess that since the Tourism Authority of Thailand is an agency of the Thai Government, they feel they are above the law.
Information on the numerous Wikis can be used, copied, etc. However, linking to the Creative Commons License and also a link to the page that the material is taken from is required. Without these, it is theft plain and simple.
The Terms of Use and Creative Commons information is at the bottom of every Wiki page and is in the Thai Language too. No excuse for not following the rules.
Wonder how much the staff at the Tourism Authority of Thailand gets paid to surf the Internet looking for Intellectual Property to steal?
