Coconut Candy photo stolen by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand Sukjai Thailand must be on some sort of food fetish kick this week. My guess that TAT doesn’t know locations of tourist areas, so is content to post worthless photos of food.
Here is the Facebook post of the stolen coconut balls that the Tourism Authority of Thailand posted.
Some of the text comes from this long post that has illustrated step-by-step instructions on how to make coconut candy balls.
The stolen photo is from this forum post. Both photos are exactly the same size – 640×480.
Posting food photos is no way to get tourists to come to Thailand. It does very little for the local Thais as they can get Thai food everywhere. There may be some delicacy that only exists in one certain area of Thailand, but still easy enough to get. So, why is the Tourism Authority of Thailand fixated on posting stealing food photos?
The Tourism Authority of Thailand would be better off getting off their lazy butts and going out to the various locations they are supposed to promote. They do have field offices in the provinces that could provide worthwhile information and original photos but I guess they are also too lazy to get out and get it right. Much easier to surf the Internet, steal photos and text, provide incorrect information to tourists, and basically, don’t give a shit.
It looks like the Tourism Authority of Thailand has some sort of food fetish and gets social media marketing wrong again.
