Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) continues to steal photos.
Today, the Tourism Authority of Thailand posted a photo of a plate of food and gave credit – but – still gets it wrong.
Here is the Facebook post from Sukjai Thailand, Tourism Authority of Thailand:
This time the Tourism Authority of Thailand gives credit to someone and posts a link to a web site. BUT – is this the owner?
Who knows? No one. Because – I am 99.9% positive that the Tourism Authority of Thailand did NOT ask for and receive permission to use the photo. Authorization is required.
If you search for the photo using Google Images, you will find five different versions from three different web sites. One is the site mentioned by the Tourism Authority of Thailand – Bloggang.com.
The other two sites have the exact same photo, but with a watermark. Teenee.com and Holidaythai.com.
So, which site has the original?
This is why one needs permission from the photographer before posting a photo. Without authorization, it is stealing.
And, the photo that the Tourism Authority of Thailand posted may not belong to the person at bloggang.com that posted it. They have no way of knowing without contacting the person that owns the photo.
But, at least, they are getting better. Posting the photo credit is a good start by the Tourism Authority of Thailand but they need to get permission and study Thai law.
