I have said many times that the Tourism Authority of Thailand is clueless, worthless, and doesn’t know what they are doing.
I thought I had seen it all until today when the Tourism Authority of Thailand issued a press release encouraging tourists to visit the ancient ruins of Ayutthaya.
The idiots at the Tourism Authority of Thailand are already promoting Ayutthaya to tourists, foreign and domestic, and the site has yet to be restored.
UNESCO has surveyed the area and reported that it is severely damaged with salt stains and fungus. Also reported is that it will take 600 million baht to repair the area.
So, does the Tourism Authority of Thailand wait until the planning and assessment stage to finish before announcing that Ayutthaya is ready to accept tourists? NOPE. This is still in the planning stage – all the flood waters have yet to recede. Doesn’t matter to the Tourism Authority of Thailand – they want to make up 6 BILLION lost baht.
So, what does the Tourism Authority of Thailand do? They get the staff from the Tourism Authority of Thailand to go to Ayutthaya for a photo op showing them with mops and brooms. This is in their Press Release – Historic Ayutthaya Welcomes Visitors with Warm Hearts. What a bunch of idiots!. Let the ancient ruins dry out first. Let the experts from Japan, Holland, Italy and the Netherlands tell you, the Thai Government, what to do to fix the mess. Close off the area for about one year and do it properly.
But, no, the Tourism Authority of Thailand is already claiming that the ancient ruins of Ayutthaya are ready for visitors.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has put another sugar coated press release in a feeble attempt to lure tourists back to a site that is hardly ready for tourists. I sure hope that no one gets sick from the fungus or gets some kind of airborne disease. But, the Tourism Authority of Thailand doesn’t care. They only care about duping tourists and getting their money and in the end will probably ruin Ayutthaya for generations to come.
Read the Press Release from the Tourism Authority of Thailand where they claim everything is peachy-dandy and then read the article Ancient Ayutthaya temples at risk, UNESCO warns, and tell me which one you believe.
The worthless knuckleheads at the Tourism Authority of Thailand can’t even update the latest flood situation – it is 8 December and the latest “situation update” is from 30 November – Totally Worthless.
Someone needs to line up all of the staff at the Tourism Authority of Thailand and slap some sense into them before they completely destroy Thailand.
