Since Topsoil Guy #1 got fired a couple weeks ago for non-delivery of promised soil, wife found another guy – Topsoil Guy #2. She contacted this guy on Sunday and he promised “maybe on Monday, guaranteed on Tuesday”. he kept his word and soil began arriving at about 0900 today.
More soil will be delivered over the next few days until we get about 1/2 meter spread. Then it will have to be compacted and another 1/2 meter added, spread and compacted.
I have not been allowed on our home site as my wife feels that Topsoil Guy #2 will jack up his price if he sees this Farang hanging around. I agree and stay away.
Once this finishes, the wall will go up. Architect is working on different design as the first plan came in way over budget. We will still have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath – but much simpler design.
