Another 90 days has passed and it was time once again for a short visit to Khon Kaen Thai Immigration for my 90-day check-in.
This time I knew exactly where my Passport was located and no problems getting ready to visit Thai Immigration.
Last night I got my other documents ready – copies of passport photo page, visa, and departure card. This was a new requirement the last time I did my 90-day check-in at Thai Immigration. Saved a couple of baht doing it at home.
Left the house at 0905 with my wife driving to Thai Immigration. Got there in about 20 minutes and the parking lot was empty.
I was afraid that Thai Immigration was closed since Monday is a holiday (King’s Birthday) – but my fear was short lived as another Farang and his lady went into the office ahead of me.
There was one other guy already being helped by Thai Immigration and the guy ahead of me went to the reception counter as I headed for the ticket-number machine. My number was called about 2 seconds later.
It was casual Friday as all of the Thai Immigration Officers, including the Police Senior Sergeant Major who took care of me, were in civvies. I was pleasantly greeted and presented all of my paperwork with my passport to the Thai Immigration Officer.
He looked it over, filled out his part of the TM47 form and had me sign it. He stapled the copies I made to the form, stamped the smaller piece that goes in my Passport, and I am good until 29 February 2012.
Once again the Thai Immigration Officers were polite, friendly, efficient, and make going for the 90-day check-in as painless as possible.
