Every morning I go out for about a 45 minute bike ride and usually ride around Lake Nong Khot. It is a small lake and the water is almost always smooth as glass.  Fisherman are out every day using a variety of styles to bring in their catch.

Out and about at 0600 for my daily ride around Lake Nong Khot. Nice and cool and just about sunrise – little overcast but no signs of rain.

The fishermen were out fishing with nets.

And, then I came upon what has to be one of the smallest wooden boats ever made – along with the smallest oars.

All in all, a very nice Saturday.  No dogs chased me, it wasn’t hot out, and I saw some more interesting sights.

Here is another hard working guy in Khon Kaen on Lake Nong Khot. Every morning on my bicycle ride I see this guy either putting out his net or pulling it back in. And from what I see, there are not many fish to be had and the ones that are caught are only an inch or two in size.

But, he is out there every morning, bright and early as I get to the lake around 0600 and he is already hard at work.

My cousin has been trying to get me camping for the past year.  This past weekend we went. Family friends have a dairy farm about one hour away near Ubolratana Reservoir and Nam Phong National Park.

Lots of fun with BBQ, drink and sleeping in tents.  I even got in a little metal detecting in the morning.

We also went out on a boat for most of the day – so that meant more food, drink swimming,and some karaoke.

Good fun and a different way to spend the weekend.
