Tourism Authority of Thailand has stolen another photo and more text.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has posted another photo on their Sukjai Thailand Facebook page and thinks that just because they put the following makes it OK -Photo credit by variety.mcot.net/v3662.
If you go to the link suggested by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, you get this: Cannot connect to DB server
So, what the Tourism Authority of Thailand Sukjai Thailand did was go to Google image search, found the photo they wanted to steal, and right-clicked and saved it, without going to the actual web page.
If the Tourism Authority of Thailand knew what they were doing, they would have noticed that there are numerous, identical photos of the Phi Ta Khon mask.
One is here – Wikalenda
Another – Loei Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports
One more – Oldmanlove.com – scroll waaaaay down.
Yet another – at this IP Address – Research Center for Makong Regional Tourism – Makong is their spelling
And finally – one at OKNation.net
So, which one is the original and true photo? The Tourism Authority of Thailand doesn’t know and I am sure did not ask for and receive permission to use the photo. Authorization is required under Thai law.
Additionally, the Tourism Authority of Thailand is too lazy to write their own words and had to steal some from a student page at the Srinakharinwirot University.
But, no credit is given to whomever did the write up at the University.
This is another FAIL for the Tourism Authority of Thailand and another theft of Intellectual Property.
