Video of Em and Ped’s wedding in Roi-et Thailand.

Finished editing the video I shot at the wedding of my brother-in-law and his lovely wife.  And, will add a few more photos from the wedding day.

Em and Ped Wedding

This was the first time that I had been to an all Thai wedding.  I have been to a couple of Farang-Thai weddings, and some of the Thai traditions are in place, but there is nothing like an authentic Thai wedding in the village.

Family Members At Wedding

Watching my brother-in-law, Em, as he nervously led the march to his lady’s house, and then going through the silver and gold gates to finally get inside the house, was fun to see.

He did a great job with jittery hands putting the gold on his betrothed.  He only had problems with the bracelet and it took three or four attempts to get the clasp closed.

Em's Mom And Stepdad Seated Behind

Em’s mom and step-dad were seated directly behind Em and Ped during the ceremony.  The only person that suffered from leg cramps was Em.  You will see in the video his cousin, Tao, come to the rescue.

Catering Crew

While the wedding ceremony is going on upstairs, downstairs, the catering crew is hard at work preparing food for about 150 people.  They know that as soon as the wedding ceremony finishes, food and drink need to flow.

Sai Sin Strings

Family members attached strings to the wrists of the lovely couple wishing them good fortune and adding as much baht as they could afford.

Once the praying, chanting, and string tying finished, it was time for the party.  Food, drink, and music to celebrate the wedding for the rest of the day.

Party Area

Nothing fancy here.  Just good people, great food, plenty to drink, and lots of fun.

Posing With Happy Couple

Em and Ped made the rounds to all those who attended, thanking them with a CD of music compiled by my wife’s cousin, Tao – the family musician.  He wrote a song for Em to perform that kind of sums up how he met Ped and tried to win her heart.
