Khon Kaen University (KKU) held an agricultural fair yesterday with all sorts of goodies on sale.

My buddy, Tom, from Isaan-Live.com called me up after he went to tell me that it was definitely worth going to. Initially, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Khon Kaen office, posted a brochure on Facebook (in Thai) that my wife translated and she said that it would just be another Thai market and nothing special.  This was one of the very times that the Tourism Authority of Thailand actually posted an event ahead of time and had accurate information.

However, when Tom called to say that it was definitely worth a stop, I told her and she rounded up her mom, brother and his girlfriend, and they all headed over to see what Khon Kaen University had to offer.

This was very good timing as our house in is almost finished and it is time to start planning on landscaping.

So, after a couple hours, the family pulled up in my mother-in-law’s pick-up truck and we started off-loading a small jungle.  My better half picked up a couple of mango trees and some other plants that I have no idea what they are, but I am sure that they will produce something to eat.

The mango trees are about 10 feet tall and already bearing fruit and only cost 400-500 baht.

So, thanks Tom, for telling me that the Khon Kaen University Agricultural Fair was worth a visit.

Now I will be able to eat mangoes and try to figure out what the other plants are that we put in the ground at the Khon Kaen House.
