To kick off the annual Khon Kaen Silk Festival, the local schools and community groups staged a parade yesterday. Me and my buddy, Tom, had a hard time finding out the exact start time of the Silk Festival Parade.  We contacted the Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) via their Facebook page but got no answer.  We contacted the Khon Kaen branch of the TAT and this is the answer I received:

TAT Khonkaen The parade is going to start at Klang Muang Road in front of Tessaban Suan Sa Nuk School around 01.00 pm. and will parade through Klang Muang Road to the provincial office.

So, we knew that the Khon Kaen Silk Festival Parade would start around 1:00 PM which can be any time in Thailand.

Tom did a recon of the supposed start area and identified activity by Fairy Plaza – so that is where we met up.

All in all, it was pretty good.  The parade started on time, was well represented by local schools and community, and was extremely colorful.

Now, if I could just figure out where to buy the Khon Kaen Festival silk.
