My wife has been busy with some wooden items for the house in Khon Kaen, Thailand.
Initially she found some light fixtures to go on the outside of the house, but a couple days ago, she found some more goodies. She first came home with a new wooden mailbox that needed to be stained. Now, she had bought some lights for the house before and they were unfinished and she had her step-father stain them. Step-dad works with wood as a side job and does very good work.
However, for the mailbox, my wife wanted to do the work saying it would be faster if she did it herself. So, she picked up a can of stain at Global House and went to work.
Hopefully, the guy that rides the motorcycle for the Khon Kaen Post Office will be able to find our house.
After completing the mailbox, she got another idea to get wooden light fixtures to place on the outer wall of our property.
These will go on every beam around the front wall and intermittently around the sides and the back. She picked up about 12 of these and has been staining them for the past 2 days.
I have to admit that they do look very nice and give a “Thai” touch to the house.
Our house in Khon Kaen is supposed to be completed by 9 February 2011 or the contractor forfeits .1% of the total cost (1,230,000 Thai baht) daily. We shall see if it is completed on time or if we go into the penalty phase. And, if we do go into the penalty phase, will the Khon Kaen Contractor adhere to the contract and start deducting money from what our final payment will be? Only time will tell.
