Officially groundbreaking on our house will be on August 18th, 2010, but work has already begun.
According to my wife, pounding in the foundation poles doesn’t count. Only when the “beam’ is added does it officially count as groundbreaking.
Here are some pictures of the poles. They will have to be trimmed down to make them even. These were pounded into the ground in one day.
They also started to erect the temporary quarters for the day laborers.
Now, if we could just get the Khon Kaen Electric Company off their asses and put up the poles and wires. My wife went to their office today to find out why we paid 63,000 Thai baht 3 weeks ago and nothing has been done. She talked to the surveyor who got into an argument with the engineer over how many poles should be erected.
After the argument, it was suggested that my wife cancel the order and re-submit. My wife almost killed the guy. Hopefully they will be out tomorrow to get it right.
