Wham-O spokesman, Arthur “Spud” Melin, said “It is a sad day here in Toyland. Hoop made us all rich in the 60′s when he was only a flimsy piece of plastic. Rubberized, we were able to sell Hoop for 10 times the cost. He will be missed by all.”
His last appearance was at the Ubolratana Dam where the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand was sponsoring a health and fitness day. The following video is the last known performance by Hula Hoop.
