I went to make some changes to one of my web sites last night to discover that the site is being blocked in Thailand. Or, at least partially blocked. I can’t see it with my ISP, but my buddy, Tom, at Isaan-Live can still see it on a different Thai ISP. Go figger.
CombatCameras has been around for about 5-6 years and initially I was posting public domain military photos but that got to be a pain uploading daily. I switched it to videos from Youtube and had a plug-in that would automatically pull videos based on keywords and I would just monitor and make small changes to the posts.
Last night I decided to monetize it and use a plug-in to pull data from Amazon.com again based on keywords. When I tried to access the site, I got this message:
0 2141 6950” Using Google translate it reads in English: "We apologize for any inconvenience. Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. Ordered to stop publishing a Web site that you want to visit. Because the images, text, and some inappropriate content. For more information on. Ministry of Information and Communication Tel: 0 2141 6950 " Kind of strange as I was able to access it a couple days ago and nothing has been posted to it for about one month. This, of course, makes absolutely no sense as the videos came from Youtube and anyone can see them there. There is nothing derogatory towards the Thai Monarchy, nothing against the Thai Government - just military videos - mostly US military. So, I went in the backdoor, deleted the entire site, and re-uploaded WordPress, and got the Amazon plug-in running. Now, we will just have to see if it gets unblocked. After all, I am just selling Books from Amazon.
